MHz WORLDVIEW is a new national programming service of MHz NETWORKS, headquartered in Washington, D.C. For more than 10 years, MHz NETWORKS has been building unique international programming relationships with some of the world’s greatest programmers. In Washington, D.C., MHz is seen on public stations WNVC and WNVT — two independent non-PBS affiliated broadcast stations.
MHz has built a self-sustaining business model based on exclusive international content, original productions and local ethnic programs. Despite its non-profit status, MHz NETWORKS has evolved its entrepreneurial attitude and generates revenue through a variety of sources including: tower rental, complete video production services, distribution services and shared underwriting. Viewer contributions and specific grants provide additional funding for original programming and projects.
MHz is owned by the Commonwealth Public Broadcasting Corporation located in Richmond, VA. MHz NETWORKS has studio facilities in Falls Church, VA and at the Ronald Regan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
At its core, MHz NETWORKS remains an educational organization committed to enriching the lives of those it serves — to connect local ethnic communities to their home countries and keep Americans informed about the rest of the world.
Mission: MHz NETWORKS promotes intercultural understanding through intelligent programming and outreach. MHz is an independent media pioneer that delivers programs from around the world on air and online in more than 20 different languages.
